White Tie Ball
The 2026 White Tie Ball is Coming....
On Saturday 17th October, Plus Community and Grounded Electrical will once again host the White Tie Ball. This is an annual event to raise money to support women and children escaping domestic and family violence who will be staying with us at The Orchard Orange.
The Orchard Orange, operated by Plus Community (part of Housing Plus), provides safe, purpose-built accommodation specifically for women and their children escaping domestic and family violence, offering vital support services to help them recover from trauma.
The White Tie Ball was first held in 2017, and over the past eight events we have raised over $650,000 to support women and children escaping domestic violence.
We have supported over 390 women and children who have stayed with us since we opened our doors in 2021.
“Without this place I honestly don’t know where we would be right now. The Orchard has helped me overcome my fears and helped me get to a better place in my sons and my life.” says an Orchard resident (name withheld to protect identity)
100% of funds raised at the White Tie Ball goes towards providing safety, essential items, and practical assistance for women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence. Together, we can help families move from crisis to safety and independence.
“This event is crucial in ensuring these families receive the care and resources they need to rebuild their lives. We rely heavily on community donations and fundraising to keep our doors open ” said Rochelle Monaghan, White Tie Ball Event Coordinator for Plus Community.
The event will include dinner, a charity auction, raffles, lucky gift bags, lucky door prizes and entertainment throughout the evening.
Tickets go on sale in August. A table seats 8 people if you would like to organise a group of friends to come along as well, you can also make bookings as individuals.
The White Tie Ball is being organised by The Orchard Fundraising Committee, volunteers from the community. Chair, Julianne Potts and committee members Libby Seaman, Kylie McCloskey, Chris Scoins, Lauren Dwyer, Bernadette Allen, Jenna Hattersley and Rochelle Monaghan.
How you can get involved
We would like to invite you to become involved in this important community initiative.
We are seeking sponsors for the event as well as donations of goods, services, or vouchers that we can raffle or auction on the night.
Women and children who come to The Orchard Orange are rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence. Many arrive with few personal belongings and face significant practical and emotional challenges as they move toward safety and independence.
Community support helps provide essential items, safety measures, and practical assistance that allow women and children to live safely and begin their recovery. This includes emergency relief, household items, security enhancements, children’s resources, and support that helps families establish stable, independent lives.
